February 10, 2025
Practical Tools & Strategies: The program provided real-life tools for handling co-parenting challenges, from conflict resolution techniques to communication strategies that keep things focused on the children. Child-Centered Approach: I appreciated the consistent focus on the well-being of the children and how the course emphasized minimizing conflict to create a healthy, stable environment for them. Clear Guidance on Parenting Plans: The step-by-step approach to creating or revising a parenting plan was extremely helpful. It helped me think through important details, anticipate changes, and plan for the future. Encouragement of Self-Reflection: The journal entries and exercises encouraged me to reflect on my own actions, triggers, and co-parenting habits in a way that was constructive and solution-oriented. Balance Between Self-Care and Co-Parenting Responsibilities: I liked that the program acknowledged the importance of self-care—reminding parents that they need to be in a good place emotionally in order to co-parent effectively. Options for Different Co-Parenting Styles: The program recognized that not all co-parents can work closely together and gave strategies for both cooperative parenting and parallel parenting, which makes it more realistic for different situations. Helpful Communication Strategies: I learned new ways to keep discussions productive with my co-parent and avoid common communication pitfalls that lead to misunderstandings or conflict. Encouragement for Growth & Flexibility: The program made it clear that co-parenting is an ongoing process and that adapting to change is key to long-term success.

First of all, I want to thank you for this class. It will be very helpful for my future relationship with my son and my ex-partner. Thank you for teaching me how to handle my feelings and how to take care of myself. Realizing that one of the things I have to do first is face myself in order to be okay and so that my son is okay. How to handle the stages of the breakup or separation that I am going through, and also how to motivate myself to keep moving forward after one feels that the world is falling on top of them with a situation like this. It also helped me manage things as a separated parent, understand the conflicts and how to handle them with the other foster parent. And above all, I learned how to communicate with my son and how to protect him... and have a healthy relationship with him and the co-parent... thank you.

It taught me to be a better person and a better parent. Sometimes take into consideration about mom’s suggestions and feelings about our child. Try to resolve any issue, whether big or small. Communicate in a healthy manner and not just yell at each other.

I like how each thing was broken down, concept by concept. And how it asked the same questions before and after, it helped me gauge my growth and understanding of what is happening and needs to happen. And I appreciate that it also covered how to care for myself and not just about the children.

I appreciated the few new ideas to help avoid conflicts with my high conflict co-parent. I’ve already used what I’ve learned. I really like that it explained the different kinds of high conflict. I like that it informed me that I have been handling my high conflict co parent the best I can and that their feelings are their own and not my responsibility. Great class!

I liked that it actually made me realize my personal real life situations with my children and it explained to me exactly why some of these things were happening, like the constant lying and unexplained attitude swings. I was very impressed that it kept me involved in the course videos and that I was interested and took in as much as I could from it all.

This class helped me recognize how interactions between co-parents can escalate and how these toxic interactions can effect the child. I appreciated the tools and strategies on ways to avoid and de-escalate conflict. The class defined spousal abuse and validated my position with being the target of particular behaviors my partner has had toward me; over-riding the feedback and feelings I had that I was being dramatic or overly sensitive.

12 Hour - Parenting Without Conflict
February 8, 2025
Before the program, I considered myself a high-conflict person. There were times when I made the situation worse, sometimes inadvertently. The program helped me realize this. It has been so helpful to learn new ways to deal with conflicts. Now I can be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. One of the things I liked about this course was how easy it was to understand. I was able to relate to some of the scenarios, which helped me start to think differently. I also like that the program keeps an activity journal for later use. I plan to keep using it and have reminders to do and be better. This course gave me some valuable tools for me to become a better parent and person. It has helped me feel like I am able to, and worthy of, becoming better at co-parenting. I believe that my co-parent and I want what is best for our daughter, and I have the ability to learn and do better. Another aspect of this program that I appreciated were the other topics of divorce: financial, mental health, getting into another relationship, and most importantly, that the children can either be stunted in emotional and mental health, or thrive because of the parents' ability to focus on the child. This program gave me some valuable tools to become a better parent and person. I'm glad I had the opportunity to take it. My only regret is that I hadn't taken this course much sooner.

I liked how this class helped me to understand how our children may view themselves as a product of both of us, so it is very important to not express any of my frustrations about their dad to them. This class helped me to realize that, even though their dad and I were already at a place where we understood things weren't working out, and they could also see that, it still has an affect on the children even though they are older.

I liked all of it. It really helped me from the beginning to the end, dealing with thoughts or worries I was having. Like "is this normal?" "Why do I feel this way?" "Am I handling the breakup and my daughter healthily?". And the effects DV can have on a divorce/custody situation. And also all the options, like mediation or arbitration. Learning that you can take care of things, before it gets taken out of your hands completely by going in front of a judge.

Some things I really liked about this program were: Helping Me Focus on What I Can Control – The program reinforced that I can’t change my co-parent’s behavior, but I can control how I respond and how I create stability for my children. Practical Tools for Co-Parenting – I appreciated the parallel parenting strategies, communication guidelines, and conflict management tips that helped me navigate difficult situations. Encouraging a Child-Focused Mindset – This program reminded me that my children’s well-being should always be the priority, and that co-parenting decisions should be made with their best interests in mind, not personal conflicts. Structured Approach to a Parenting Plan – The worksheets and planning steps helped me organize my thoughts, identify challenges, and create a realistic parenting plan that I can use moving forward. Overall, this program gave me valuable insights and tools to handle co-parenting with less stress, ensuring that my children grow up feeling safe, supported, and loved.

It’s show how to talk about your partner to the kids in a positive way, and that’s how it should be; it shows how we need to work together in a positive way regarding our kids, and what’s in the best interest of the children. I liked how it showed videos of what you should do and not do when discussing things or situations with the kids. I really like this whole thing honestly and I’m glad we both had to take it so maybe the other parent will see what they are doing is not all right and how it affects the kids! Thank you for this class!
