There are several things I really appreciated about this program. First, it provides a lot of helpful advice on handling family relationships, dealing with conflicts and managing emotions, which is important for making sure children are well cared for. Second, the program gives practical tips that you can actually use to improve how you communicate and work with your co-parent. These tips are not just theoretical but really help in making things better for everyone involved in the family. Additionally, the program encourages thinking deeply about your role as a parent and how your actions affect your children during times of change. It helps you grow and understand more about managing family situations well. Furthermore, the program stresses the importance of seeking help from your community or professionals when needed. It recognizes that co-parenting can be tough and that getting support can make a big difference in how things go. Lastly, the program is flexible and understanding, knowing that each family is different and may need different solutions. It gives you tools that can be adjusted to fit your specific situation, which is really helpful in dealing with the challenges of co-parenting. Overall, this program has been a great resource for learning and improving how to co-parent effectively, offering practical advice and support tailored to different family needs. I like that this program gives me hope for the future when co-parenting.

It allows for people of varying personalities and varying marital experiences to learn valuable tools to become better people, parents and partners. It honors and respects those who have survived abusive marriages and equips them to better manage their encounters with their co-parent in the future. It provides insight into different methods of handling separation and divorce. The focus of the teaching is to create safer, more stable and more loving homes for children experiencing separation and divorce. The teaching on conflict is applicable to situations above and beyond separation and divorce.

I liked that this program connected past experiences to present actions. Being aware of one’s past experiences can allow you to be more sensitive and understanding of one’s behaviours and reactions. I also liked learning about how children in different stages will react to the separation and what to look out for. I learned about the importance of communication with the children in appropriate levels in order to avoid the “cycle of silence”. I learned some new tools to communicate with my co-parent, I also learned that it’s ok if we don’t agree and I can walk away when the situation gets out of control. Overall this program provided a wide range of topics that one would encounter in a situation of loss and break up, rebuilding on a new life and relationships and how to move forward for all parties involved.

I really enjoyed the program's approach of regularly checking in on how you're feeling and nudging you to open up about it. Has been incredibly valuable. It helps you untangle your emotions. This practice has been particularly valuable in helping me understand where I stand emotionally and pinpointing areas that might need a bit more attention or exploration. I also really enjoyed how comprehensive the program is. It covers so much ground on various co-parenting topics, giving me a wealth of information and insight. I feel like I have a toolbox ready for any situation that may come my way. Knowing that I have access to this knowledge and these resources makes me feel more prepared and confident to handle whatever challenges arise. Great course.

The program overall covered many helpful areas such as the importance of how we think (and how we teach our kids to think/respond emotionally), how to influence the co-parent in positive ways, different and difficult personality types and how different personality types can conflict with one another. I also really appreciated the care and attention of our parenting coach.

I really liked the journaling aspect of this course. It helped me put some of the feelings I've been experiencing into words and honestly helped me feel a little better about some of the things that happened. In general, journaling is a great learning tool. It's a great way to increase student involvement and make the material relevant to them.

I wish I would have gone through and taken this class at the start of the divorce process two years ago. There is a ton of really good info in here that I wish I had access to back then. There was a lot of hardship I went through at the beginning, that this would have helped guide me through and cleared up a lot of misinformation that is out there.

4 Hour - Co-Parenting / Divorce Class

June 3, 2024

Amber M.

It explains well the different feelings that are normal to experience for both the parents and the children. I also found it more useful than mediation because it dove into issues of emotional abuse and substance abuse that were ignored throughout my process. I finally felt supported in frustrations. I also really appreciated the outlook of developing a parenting plan similar to what the children were used to prior to the separation opposed to just arriving at a 50/50 plan.

It gave ways to handle the breakup and how to deal with the child and the partner. I was given examples of conflicts and ways to handle them correctly. And it gave ways to manage our daughter after the divorce moving forward.
