I enjoyed learning more about how the brain works when in fight or flight mode. It really helped to add that visual to the way I feel in those situations. I also liked the chapter on flexible thinking, because I know I have a tendency to get stuck.

I like the journaling and all the knowledge and skills. The journaling can help someone to really think and apply these skills to their situations/life. I like that he explained why the courts do things the way they do and how EVERYTHING affects the children - the why and the how.

I am learning many new terms and examples of flexible thinking, types of behaviors, all-or-nothing thinking, communicating, BIFF response and much more. That helps me assess my reflection on emotions and behaviors and improve my life with four effective parenting skills: flexible thinking, managed emotions, moderate behaviors and checking myself. Therefore, that helps me develop better relationships with co-parent and children for communication and emotional skills.

The four ways of avoiding conflict are so helpful! The tips about how to avoid becoming a high-conflict case are also beneficial. I want things to flow smoothly with my co-parent for the sake of our son and this class offered insight and instruction into how to achieve this. It also reminds throughout the entire class that it is always best to keep our son as the sole focus rather than my emotions. It further reminds me that communication should only take place when I am calm and without emotions.

It really helped me open up my eyes as to how I can improve as a co-parent. I liked the video examples and journal as well as the fact that there were timers on the bottom of most pages.
