The most valuable piece of knowledge that I learned from this parenting class was definitely how to make proposals. The article by Bill Eddy was GREAT. I recently submitted some court documents in which I asked quite a lot of "why" statements of the other parent (the children's father) and now recognize how that could be interpreted as criticism. Now, I have learned about moderate behaviors and that my emotions are contagious to those around me which is why it is important to have systems in place to ensure parents can stay emotionally regulated while they are parenting. For me, learning how to communicate while I am articulating a Proposal rather than ask a WHY statement was a MAJOR growth point for me. Additionally, "the New Ways Parent-Child Talk" article was also extremely helpful. The scripts that were given throughout the units, and the additional resources were extremely powerful tools. Thank you!

How it helps explain living in different homes with different rules isn't a bad thing. And how to deal with dangerous co-parents
